For basic applications this can be used without a crank trigger. In performance applications both are still recommended.

The Mini Cam Sync V2 was designed for VW Air cooled engines or anything that can fit a "009" distributor.  Filling the gap when upgrading from batch or bank fire to sequential spark and fuel injection.

Why would I choose the Mini Cam Sync V2?

The Mini Cam Sync V2 offers a quick and easy way to control your ignition timing without the need to remove your crank pulley. We have multiple trigger wheel options to choose from to suite your application. Sequential allows for precision triggering of both spark and fuel timing. This is done when the ECU knows #1 cylinder is into the compression phase. The Mini Cam Sync V2 replaces a standard distributor to give this information to the ECU. I use a hall sensor for a square wave output. If your ECU is capable, it can now fire just the injector and coil that is next in the firing order if you have discrete components.
