Throttle body size comparisons - 36mm vs. 40mm vs. 45mm

Happy hump day! I have some more data to share to help you choose a throttle body size for your engine. I know a ton of you are running the CB Panchito's. They flow 160-170CFM depending on the model you choose. So if you don't know already, the bore size of a throttle body is like picking the venturi in a carb. How many engines are making enough power that they require a 40mm venturi? Not too many. Will a 40mm work? Sure, you may notice once the pedal gets to 80 or 90% that it no longer makes a difference to RPM or speed. Your engine is consuming all the air it can and the additional throttle opening will no longer add to engine performance.

There will be variables but a generalization can be:
36mm supports ~ 150 crank hp
40mm supports ~ 200 crank hp
45mm supports ~ 250 crank hp
